We never stop learning.

Life is a gift. A beautiful gift that we unwrap every moment of every day. Sometimes we unwrap sad painful layers and other times joy and peace and hope.

A life that teaches us every time we unwrap its paper. When we reach the final piece of paper the final gift will be overwhelmingly beautiful.

We will see him as he is. Jesus Christ , the Lord of life and saviour of mankind.

So much to look forward to.

In life and in death.

Motivated to do .... To live ...To love

Whilst struggling with the sniffles I spent some time listening to some motivational speakers.

The principles they give to us have many parallels in the word of God. ( interesting and worth spending some time on these last couple of days )

Man Flu .... It's real :)

The last few days have been challenging ... Sniff, cough, splutter moan to Gill :-)

Glad to report though that today is a better day.

Even gladder to report that Gill and I are off to France for a few nights tomorrow .

Good friends , good food ... Good times ...memories made...  Au revoir

Christianity shared over a coffee ....

Acts 17:17

So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.

Costa is often my marketplace. It is in here that I chat to folk and seek to share how life is lived through the faith that I profess . All for his glory, particularly the cappuccino !!

Walking in the Light

This morning I stood in front of 500 boys at a secondary school in Liverpool teaching them this text.

How important it is to teach the next generation to walk in the light. To do what is right and good , to love and not to hate.

Jesus shows us the way to do this ... Walk in his light today ... Do life His way. That is the place where you will find fellowship and fellowship with Him brings peace.

Man Flu and new year resolution. !!

So far this year my 52 year old out of shape body has struggled to fight off the usual array of germs that come our way at this time of year.
So what's the solution. Get in shape by moving more and eat healthily. It's simple isn't it ..... Mmmm hoping that this year will be THAT year when the diet regime does actually reap the rewards :-)

Will keep you posted

He left us two months ago .. Still crying :(

Chester. Who was my companion for 13 years, almost all of the time  I have been a minister,  passed away two months ago on Sept 11th.
I still miss him.
Dogs are wonderful , so faithful , they love you unconditionally , they love you more than they love themselves.

Chester will always have a special place in my memories x

Au Revoir is much better than goodbye

Paul and Ali , who are the greatest of friends , today began a new adventure . Leaving this green and pleasant land to make a new home in France.

A new chapter begins and we look forward to enjoying the French experience with them every now and then.

New Chapter

Spending some time this weekend with Paul and Alli , Matt and Samantha before they move to France to begin a new chapter in their lives. ( and ours )

This house holds so many memories for our two families, fourteen years of them  , memories that bind you together in mutual love as families together ride the roller coaster of life's experiences.

So now the new chapter begins in France for them ..  So a new set of French  experiences is eagerly anticipated .

Christmas ... Begins again

The season of advent for me is a season of great joy.Not the joy of shopping or the joy of too much turkey and mince pies but the joy of knowing that the King of Glory came down and dwelt among us.

The one who was so rich with all the blessings of heaven that he gladly left behind to become poor and dwell amongst us ... He came to show us the way. ... So look to Him this advent season and not to what you have or don't have and know the real joy of Christmas ... Jesus Christ our Lord our Saviour .

Another farewell and a new chapter ...

Said goodbye to our house in Elder Gardens today. Four happy years there and Five great years at Bridge chapel.

Now a new chapter begins with a new community of believers at Bethel Green lane.

Trusting every day to Him , knowing that I walk in his peace as he marks out the way ahead for me and my family and our new church family

Katie begins a new chapter ....

A couple of Saturdays ago  was the day when Katie began her new adventure in Loughton Essex. Her new job with Yummy Jobs in Epping has led to her southern migration !

Sad to see her finally fly the nest but trusting that The Lord has lots of good things in store for her down there.

Silence ....

In our lives we have lots of noise .... TV , Radio , Facebook, Twitter, snapchat ... It is becoming harder and harder to sit in silence before The Lord and to know his peace.

I am always fascinated by the account of the building of the temple by Solomon. All the stones where placed one on top of the other in complete silence. The presence of God causes us to marvel and wonder and worship in silence.

1 Kings 6:7
" When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built."

Sweet and Sweat :) !!!

Because of this .......

We need to do this .....:)

God's way is ALWAYS right.

The wisdom from heaven if heeded would cause us not to fuel the fires of gossip . Don't talk about someone behind their back. Even if you have been wronged. Instead give them to God in prayer . He is the one we should talk to. So stop putting the wood on your fire today and watch how the peace of God works.

Philippians 4 .... Over mint Tea ... Rejoice in The Lord always and again I say rejoice

Sometimes when I spend time in The Word with pen and moleskine to hand the sense of His presence is palpable. " The Lord is at Hand "

Grace and Grasmere

Thankful for good friends and great places. All of which are supplied by the grace of God. Grasmere with Paul and Ali ... Another great set of memories.
